Republic of Buryatia is located in the south-east of Russia. In the north it borders on the Irkutsk region, in the west - on the republic of the Republic of Tyva, in the east - on Chita region and the south - on Mongolia. Republic of Buryatia is a subject of the Russian federation. |
It has its Constitution and state symbols: the Coat of arms, the Flag and the Anthem. People's Khural is the highest legislative body and the Government is the highest executive body. President is head of the executive power.

covers the area of 351,3 thousand sq. km.. The population is 970 thousand people. There are six towns, twenty one administrative districts, twenty settlements of town type and six hundred fourteen rural settlements. Ulan-Ude is the capital of the republic. |
